The large scale of white in the space creates a light and clean atmosphere, while the dark wooden furniture adds weight and depth. Muted color décors, hexagonal tiles, and potted plants provide soft touches to the overall design. This fresh, Nordic style space will be the perfect backdrop for the newlyweds' elegant married life for many years to come.
The dining table, located between the living room and the kitchen, is highlighted by metal pendant lamps hanging from the beam above and metal chair legs below, adding a dash of shine to the space. The kitchen floor is covered with hexagonal tiles, echoing the entrance and providing increased stain resistance. The mini bar on the right is a great spot for a morning coffee or tea break.
With a total area of 73 square meters, this project showcases the designer's attention to detail and commitment to creating a functional and beautiful residential space. The entrance, decorated with hexagonal tiles, serves as a transitional space, allowing visitors to unwind and prepare for the light-filled interior. The floating cabinet offers unexpected storage space, while the soft gray-brown color palette continues throughout the public areas, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. The lower back wall design allows natural light to flood the space, further enhancing its brightness and openness.
One of the design challenges was the partition of the study, which is made of glass. This design choice allows the study to share sunlight with the bedroom, while maintaining a visually open space. The closet door is a glass sliding door with hardware, mirroring the elements used in the bedroom. The space is well-lit due to its connection with the balcony and offers ample storage for clothes and personal belongings.
The project was completed in December 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan. It has received recognition for its exceptional design and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive feelings, and contributing to a better world.
